Graduated-congratulated from Ensba (Paris Beaux-Arts School) in
2005, Clément Rodzielski questions stereotypical images, in particular
those from ‘low-tech’ culture infinitely reproducible and reproduced.
His work, combining painting and sculpture, is committed to
deconstructing their reproduction methods and their circulation
channels. Transformed, the images lose their original sense whilst
participating in the elegant and delicate formality of his installations. Like other artists of his generation, Clément Rodzielski revisits the canons of Minimal Art while adulterating their pretext. In the installation presented here, he has chosen as his starting point some found sketchbooks. From these he extracted the principle of constraint in order to enter a Pop, spatial dimension. The big black squares cut from MDF reprise the details of the original drawings which constitute so many incidents and dead ends resulting from his protocol. |
